There are many ideas for designing a modern barn. Each one is unique and it does not matter whether you are planning this project only for a weekend home or for your main residence. Modern barn houses are popular around the world because they combine natural, rustic materials with industrial elements, which give this type of development more space and simplicity at the same time.
Architects are almost competing in designing this functional structure, which is based on a simple rectangular plan. It has a gable roof and refers to traditional, rural buildings, however, in the modern version, the impressive glazing in the gable walls, the height of the building, which uses the space under the roof with panache, adds flavor. The technologies in which the Nowoczesna Stodoła buildings are built are very different, a wide range of construction materials can be used, from concrete to wood. The modular technology, in which Domki Marysia realizes the construction of this impressive house, belongs to the group of technologies, the leading material of which is wood.
"In our opinion, wood offers many design possibilities, it is a light material, which means that the foundation for building a house requires less financial outlay and generates time savings, thanks to the production of the building in the hall. Our houses arrive at the construction site in parts and the assembly of the walls itself does not take longer than 2 days. Of course, the implementation of the next stages requires work, but we try to shorten the implementation time as much as possible, which directly translates into savings for the Investor," says Dorota Burzec, CEO of Domki Marysia.
With so many ideas for designing a modern barn, there are many ways to achieve the look you want. Regardless of your overall design aesthetic, there is a good chance you will find a barn that reflects your personality and the needs of you and your family while also blending in with the surrounding area.

A bold zone on the ground floor focused on the living room with access to the terrace. Glazing is a 6-chamber, energy-saving HS sliding window system or windows that open inwards. The colors in the visualization are kept in warm shades of wood, but any color and texture from the manufacturer's palette can be used. Everything depends on the Investor's preferences and should result from the final concept of the building, which will take into account, for example, guidelines resulting from spatial development plans or development conditions dedicated to a given plot.
The attic gallery can be used as a relaxation area and offers a view of the garden, thanks to the impressive glazing of the gable wall, reaching over 6 metres.
The colour scheme of the building should always refer to the surroundings, which is why meetings at the Investor's plot and, after the visit, creating a mood board that takes into account the guidelines of the local development plans, the proximity of other buildings, the Client's taste and our suggestions are so important to us.
Thanks to cooperation with the Belgian leader in wood protection, Rubio Moncoat, we use ecological creams from the manufacturer's offer on the elevations, which are available in over 30 colors. The elevation of the Stodoła Marysia 04 House is maintained in warm shades of natural pine, however, the color scheme of the roof, the elevation - is very often also dependent on ... various entries in spatial development plans. Our Clients in Masuria, Mazovia and Silesia have different requirements regarding the roof covering, its color scheme and the shade of the elevation. Fortunately, all color changes are included in the price and for the above changes, no additional fees apply to the Clients.
